Adtech startup Remerge announces $1M seed funding round led by Point Nine Capital

Berlin, 01.10.2014

Mobile Adtech startup Remerge today announced a $1M seed funding round led by Point Nine Capital and contributed to by digital marketing experts. The company also revealed the launch of its “audience segmentation and retargeting platform” for mobile app advertisers, remerge.io.

Based in Berlin, Remerge was founded in 2014 by a group of five serial entrepreneurs with extensive experience in the Adtech industry. They decided to launch the remerge.io platform after recognising that app advertisers lacked the tools to efficiently manage their app’s user base and retarget their customers with relevant marketing messages.

Remerge CEO Pan Katsukis, who previously co-founded madvertise, said: “With their expertise scaling businesses and in the Adtech space, the team at Point Nine Capital are the perfect fit for Remerge. The seed funding will allow us to further improve our technology, build up our team, and bring our product to market. Our tests with app advertisers on the remerge.io platform have verified the huge market need and potential for the solution we offer.”

Remerge is the first platform that allows marketers to generically segment their audiences based on their individual requirements and business goals. For example, all users who have performed an in-app purchase can be defined as a segment, who Remerge then encourages to purchase a new product. Remerge also offers data-secure import and ongoing audience segmentation without the use of any SDK, meaning marketers no longer have to organise and upload identifiers manually.

Describing Remerge’s approach, cofounder and CTO Martin Karlsch said.“From a tech perspective, the app ecosystem still relies heavily on manual processes. That makes it difficult to efficiently scale retargeting campaigns for big app marketers.”

“Currently, app marketers are missing efficient tools to manage their user bases and build individual retargeting strategies. We solve this problem by offering an integrated platform that combines audience management, deeplinking, dynamic ad creation and access to millions of apps. Plus, by not requiring client-side integration, our customers have zero set-up efforts.”

Remerge currently looks at more than 200,000 users per second using its high-capacious programmatic infrastructure. This means that app marketers are able to reach more mobile users globally via Remerge than by using any other solution.

Point Nine Capital Managing Partner, Pawel Chudzinski, said: “Investing in Remerge was a no-brainer for us – we’ve worked with the team before and were impressed by their work ethic and in-depth knowledge of the Adtech industry. By launching remerge.io, they are an early player addressing an ever-growing opportunity in the mobile industry.”
